From the cover to the articles inside a publication, these products can draw a consumer towards that item, pick it up, and discover what's within the pages.
FRANKENSTEIN book cover was designed based on the classic novel from 1818. I used the classic movie photograph that helped escalate this novel into a cult following. I wanted the cover to have a modern pop of color, I did this by adding a layer mask of red and yellow. This adds contrast against the green vellum overlay cover, which screams monster.
This is a recreation of a travel magazine cover and article. I had to choose a grid, typefaces, articles and images for this magazine layout.
Travel is a magazine about unique destinations across the U.S. I wanted this travel magazine to be different enough that a college student, a married couple, or family could pick it up to find a fun, interesting destination they could enjoy anywhere around the U.S. It’s not your typical California beach and Disney trip. This magazine as a whole was a complete design. From the type of magazine, to designing the header, and creating with two article's with images.
The best travel books have large full color images. It can take you to that destination without being there. For this design, I chose contrasting typefaces that fit the easy going style of the overall look. Layout, book printer logo and the descriptions were all my design.
